A timeless setting that has been revered and well-loved since 1922.
Discover a real Door County Wisconsin adventure. Explore a natural, pristine wilderness for outdoor recreation, leisure, and entertainment for all ages. With so much to discover along the glacier-carved peninsula, the Alpine is made for a complete outdoor vacation.
Our main lodge is currently undergoing renovations. Announcements on the lodge’s restoration and are forthcoming so stay tuned for exciting updates. Guests are welcome to stay in our newly renovated cottages and clubhouse rooms located above the clubhouse.
Discovered and developed in 1921, the Alpine Resort was built by brothers Paul and John Bertschinger. On first sight, the duo fell in love the property’s natural beauty and resort potential (initially selling it, then re-purchasing it after much remorse). The brothers envisioned the perfect weekend getaway, and the Alpine Resort was born, opening its doors to guests in 1922.
“The Alpine has a long, rich history and we appreciate how the new owners plan to honor our family’s legacy. We thank the community for their support, the guests who have visited the resort over the years, and we especially thank our staff.”
As new ownership looks toward the next 100 years, we are restoring, reinvesting, and expanding the Alpine Resort’s natural outdoor amenities, with our legendary golf course that opened to visitors in 2021. Although ownership has changed, the reverence associated with the historic property remains a top priority to new leadership, who also share fond childhood memories visiting the Alpine Resort.
“We have fond memories of visiting the Alpine Resort ourselves and look forward to welcoming guests for weddings, family vacations, conferences, and getaways, as has been done since the resort opened in 1922.”
As new stewards of the iconic Alpine Resort, we are excited with plans to further develop the property to honor its legacy and land. We’re eager to welcome visitors and create lasting memories for the next 100 years, with a multitude of new outdoor leisure activities and nightly events on the way.
“We thank the Bertschinger family for 100 years of dedicated care and stewardship of the Alpine Resort and property.”
